Inspired by Kashkool, a name by which a notebook was known in my childhood. Notebooks back in the late 1970’s and 1980’s in Kuwait had unique design aesthetics, they were hard cover, tape bound and very practical. They usually came in two colours, most popular is the cobalt blue hardcover and crimson red side tape, or black hard cover and bright red tape. Although hardcover, the notebooks then were thin and the pages were lightweight.
